The construction of the firstbridge (in metal, designed by Eiffel) was completed in 1901. At the time, there was only a single traffic lane connecting the banks of the Crac’h estuary. The current bridge was inaugurated in 1956. It replaced the old bridge that was destroyed in 1944.
